WhatsApp Pink: Don't download this link; your phone can get hacked

Yet another malicious WhatsApp link is under the scanner of Cyber Security experts that can potentially hack your mobile phone. An APK download link named WhatsApp Pink, that pretends to change the app to pink colour, is being circulated widely in the WhatsApp groups.

The link, if downloaded, can give complete access of your cellphone to hackers.

Notably, the link has no relation with either the WhatsApp or Facebook

Cyber Expert Rajshekhar Rajaharia, through his tweet, warned the WhatsApp users to avoid opening the link as it could leak your personal data.

"Beware of @WhatsApp Pink!! A Virus is being spread in #WhatsApp groups with an APK download link. Don't click any link with the name of WhatsApp Pink. Complete access to your phone will be lost. Share with All," Rajaharia tweeted.

In his tweet, he also shared screenshots of the pictures making rounds on social media under this link. The pictures assure the user of turning the iconic green WhatsApp colour into pink and fools the user by writing "WhatsApp launched new look officially" on the picture.

However, the user must know that the link is not official as the app has not announced any such feature yet. To protect their data, users must be potentially more careful while reacting to such links even in future.
